Impacting Lives

Reaching those that do not know Jesus is priority for our lives as written in Christ's great mission statement: "Go and make disciples of all nations." I want to challenge us all to look at those around us and begin to pray that God would create intersections of conversation and relational connection that lead to sharing Jesus and His hope. Sharing Jesus to strangers can be difficult; in relationship there is more opportunity to cultivate spiritual conversation. How are you developing relationships? I am excited to see where God leads me over the next couple of weeks as I seek out opportunities to serve in the community and develop such relationships.

Relationships are one of my favorite things! When I moved the first time I was very passive in beginning relationships; it caused a period of depression in my life that lasted about 3 months. With my last move I committed to myself that I would do things differently this time, and I was immediately blessed. I intentionally start conversations with people around me that I find a common thread in life. That might be the type of coffee being purchased, children, music, hair, adoption, or food. From there, I begin praying that the Lord would open up opportunity for friendship and impact into both of our lives. I am noticing that I need to increase my interaction within our community so that I can serve more people and our community.

May we be people who impact lives.

Thanks for posting this Kevin.  I think about this often at school, especially with my Communication classmates that I spend the academic year with.  This is where I spend most of my time during the week with the other part being at work.  God has placed these people around me and keeps bringing them back.  I do not want my school life and work life to be separate from my spiritual life - God has placed these people around me and they continue to show up in my life.  I desire to build relationships with these people I see everyday and do life with, and to not be afraid to talk about faith with them.  This is something I am acting on and praying about.   It would be a blessing to witness these friends grow in Christ.
I know that it is a cliche but the entire world is a mission field.  Whether or not we list "pastor" as our profession; we are all resonsible to minister to the people God places in our lives.
